Commercial lighting refers to lighting used in many businesses, offices, hospitals and schools. The type of commercial lighting you chose depends on they type of building, the activities of those who occupy the building and the overall look of the commercial lighting within the building.

Incandescent
One of the oldest forms of commercial lighting is incandescent. Incandescent lights are frequently used in offices for desk lamps. They produce a light that is closest to natural light. These lights do not have a long life span, and while they are the least expensive to buy they are the most expensive to operate.

Halogen
Halogen lights are used most often in outside commercial settings as security lights or at stadiums as spotlights. Halogen lights create a bright white light and are more efficient than incandescent lights.

Compact Fluorescent
Compact fluorescent lamps produce light that is similar to incandescent lights. These lights are available in a variety of sizes and are able to accommodate most any type of commercial setting. Compact fluorescent lamps last 10 times longer than incandescent lights and are 4 times more efficient.

Metal Halides
Metal halides are a high-intensity discharge type of lighting typically found in warehouses. This type of lighting comes in a variety of sizes and is commonly mounted to ceilings. Metal halides produce large quantities of bright light, but they are not very efficient.
