Ideas to Organize Kids Rooms

, Kali Winters via L&C Freelancing

Kids accumulate so much stuff in a short amount of time and often they don't want to part with any of it.

Organization is the key to keeping your kid's room clean while not having to force them to part with their beloved things. Before you begin the organization process, get down on the same level as your child to see things from their perspective.

Once you have an understanding of their perspective, organizing ideas will abound.

Secret Storage
Add a headboard with shelves and cubbyholes and use the space for storing bedtime reading books and other items that are close to your child's heart. This type of storage keeps those stuffed animals and books off the bed and floor. Under-bed bins can store puzzles and board games, keeping all the pieces together yet hidden under the bed, creating more space in the room.

Corkboard
Hang a piece of corkboard on a wall in your kid's room or on the inside of a closet. This is a great way for teens to be able to display their favorite magazine clippings, concert stubs, and fun photos of friends and family. Corkboard helps keep clutter off a desk or the floor.

Hooks and Bins
Hooks mounted on the back of the bedroom door or the inside of a closet door create a place for jackets and bags to hang, rather than winding up on the floor or bed. Colorful storage bins placed inside a closet are great for storing shoes.

Hung Netting
Netting that is hung with hooks on the wall can store items such as stuffed animals and dolls or other soft toys. Make sure to hang the netting low enough for your child to reach but high enough to keep the room looking clean and organized.
